Giving is part of the adventure we share in the faith. We are able to give in two ways. The first is the giving of our resources as a response to living a life surrendered to God. Our offering is that which we give as an act of worship. A second way we give is through our time and areas of giftedness. Perhaps you are new to the area or you have been attending Millersburg UMC for a while now, you are invited to come to be a part of this adventure with Christ in many ways. There are many opportunities for you to use your gifts. Whether it means serving a meal, singing in the choir or sharing special music, spending time with our children and youth, or being part of a small group or Bible study, there is a place for you. In our giving, we share together this adventure in the faith.
Maybe, you want to be involved but aren’t sure how you can. Please contact us and we can help you find a way to use your gifts and share your faith here at Millersburg United Methodist Church.
Our Children’s ministry has two different components. Our after school program, Kidz Konnect, meets for 10-12 weeks in the fall and then again after the holidays in the winter months. Kids kindergarten through 5th grade are invited to participate in this program from 3:45-5:30pm. Students participating from the Millersburg elementary are bused to the church through special arrangements. Another part of our Children’s ministry takes place on Sunday morning. Following the Children’s Moments in worship our Children are dismissed for JUnior Church School. Students share together a lesson in one classroom setting. Nursery is available for infants through preschool.
LOCAL & DOMESTIC PROJECTS
As a congregation we support various local Mission projects. These include Love Inc, Love Center, Share a Christmas and the Salvation Army.
These projects are primarily supported through participation in District Mission projects and UMC Denominational projects.
Our Youth Group is open to all students 6th through 12th grade. We meet from September through May on Wednesday evenings from 6-7:30pm. We begin with a meal and table talk before we share a time of activity and lesson. Summer months we plan special events to stay connected.
Various individuals from the congregation participate in ministries which serve the global community. We have helped to support those traveling to Nicaruga, Russia, Haiti and Honduras to name a few places.
On the last Sunday of the month, we take a special offering which is directed each month to one of our Mission projects. This is known as the Noisy offering because we ask people to bring their loose change which our children collect in metal cans. It is a fun way to involve everyone in helping to support Missions.
